Dump Bush and Damn the Court Hoax he Rode in On:
Impeach the (W)ar (M)ongering (D)emagogue

A Guest Commentary by Douglas Wiken (wikenaxs@gwtc.net)

George Bush looked us in the eye through his weasel eyes. Leaned across the podium. Wiped his usual smirk off his face. Got as serious a look as anybody who went AWOL from the TANG could...

...Then lied through his teeth. This was not (gasp) a fib about sex. Nope, this was a Texas Whopper about Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD for Short....also short for War Mongering Demagogue).

Bush fed us a line of humbug, one with great constitutional implications since he was misleading Congress, deceiving all of us, justifying war with false pretenses, and trying to fool the rest of the world at the same time. He was discussing matters of lives, fortunes and sacred honor. He was grossly misusing all his Presidential authority as Chief of State and Commander in Chief.

Bush's "bulletproof evidence" has been shown to be a hoax, the kind of evidence one might find in an email that reads "just send us your credit card number and we will send you your key to a bank account in Nigeria or Niger." The information the Bush thugs fed to Hans Blix and the UN inspection teams never produced anything. People in western South Dakota are openly wondering if the trainloads of gas from bunkers there will end up mysteriously in a hole in an Iraqi desert. It's getting that desperate.

Bush's lies and deceptions in his communications to the United States Congress, the American people and the global community are not fibs about sex. They are high crimes, serious enough to constitue warrant impeachment. Consider lawyer and Nixon veteran John Dean's comments to that effect.

But where is the outrage? Where is the Republican moral outrage about a lying AWOL Texas twit drug abuser being a rotten "role model" for all the youth of America (being left behind by his education hoax)? You do remember all the Republican rants about Presidents as role models, don't you? Where is losing gambler moralist Bill Bennett's moral outrage about Bush failures of omission and commission?

Have all the Republican Wingnut hypocrites suddenly gone deaf and dumb?

Is the only important moral issue to Republicans the private and consensual sex lives of other people?

Is the prosecution of military violence on the basis of trust in too trivial an infraction to bother with in the Republican universe?

Or... well, you fill in the blank.

But, hey, well, gosh, now that everything's all hunky and dory in Iraq, take a glance at some more Magniloquence Against War
