Support for H.R. 952, the Stop Torture Bill, Trickles In…

As of today, only 49 members of Congress support H.R. 952, which is written simply and exactly to end the Bush administration’s practice of extraordinary rendition, in which people are sent abroad to be tortured.

At least that’s two more than yesterday. Congratulations go out to these two Democratic representatives (yes, all the members of Congress opposed to torture just happen to be members of the Democratic Party) for finding their moral bearings and doing the right thing by adding their names as cosponsors of this important bill:

Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH)
Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-NY)

Click here for a complete list of who’s supporting H.R. 952 and who’s still soft on torture. Then contact the softies and tell them to get on board.

This is the most stupid ass site i have ever been to. So why do you want to let criminals that kill innocent people be let free instead of having them terminated? That is stupid as hell. Kill em’. One less criminal, One more life.

I was looking at this website and am doing a project on this bill and have looked at many sites on the internet and you say that not one republican stands for this bill but that statement is false in so many ways there are a number of republicans who have sponsored this bill so if you are going to right comments on a bill then i would suggest you actually research and not get proven wrong by an eighteen year old kid in politics

  6. Jim says:

Cameron, it’s cosponsored, first of all, not sponsored.

Second, you need to improve your own research skills. Follow the link for the updated record on H.R. 952. You will find not a single Republican cosponsor.

There is not yet an H.R. 952 in the Congressional Database at thomas.loc.gov for the 110th Congress (this bill was in the 109th), so you didn’t make your mistake that way. I’m at a loss, Cameron.

So let’s iron this out right here. What are your source materials? Let’s find the source of your error before you have to turn in your assignment.
