Update on H.R. 952, the Stop Torture Bill

As of today, 53 members of Congress support H.R. 952, which is written simply and exactly to end the Bush administration’s practice of extraordinary rendition, in which people are sent abroad to be tortured. That’s four more than on Friday. Congratulations go out to these four Democratic representatives (yes, all the members of Congress opposed to torture just happen to be members of the Democratic Party) for finding their moral bearings and doing the right thing by adding their names as cosponsors of this important bill:

Rep. Michael Capuano (D-MA)
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT)
Rep. Sam Farr (D-CA)
Rep. Michael McNulty (D-NY)
