I’m trying to get a grip on the cost of living in the United States, and the first thing I need to confront is that it costs different amounts to live in different places.
I’d like your help in getting an idea about how much it costs to get by where you live. If you could answer as many of the following questions for me as you could, I’d appreciate it.
Where you live…
- How much does a typical 4 bedroom, 2 bath home cost?
- How much would a typical 4 bedroom, 2 bath home rent for?
- How much does a week’s worth of groceries for a family of 4 cost?
- How much does a typical family of 4 pay for health insurance when it’s not subsidized by an employer?
- How much does a typical family of 4 pay for health insurance when it is subsidized by an employer?
- How much does child care for a 3 year-old typically cost?
Finally, of course, whereabouts do you live?
Thanks in advance for your help with this.
I, for one, have no real idea what “typical” prices are for any of these things; it’s all too variable. But there are people who track stats like this; start Googling.
