Army wife.

I write this at 9:45 on the evening of Memorial day 2009.

As a former military conscript whose Father faught in two world wars, whose brother died in one. I spent my early life being bombed back into the stone age by the Nazis in WWll, I feel that I am qualified to make response to your comments. Without belittling your faith in your husband or his sense of patriotism however misguided.

The facts are as stated. The war in Iraq is and always has been illegal. The military personnel at present under arms in Iraq are part of an occupation force acting under the direct orders of persons who subverted the constitution that your husband is sworn to uphold. If he volunteered for service, his duty should first have been to the constitution and not to somee misplaced sense of duty resurrected from history.

I feel sorry for you in your anxiety and loneliness, which is exacerbated by your misunderstanding and lack of knowledge, and information denied you by an inadequate education system and propaganda, which encourages people to run out and buy handguns for personal protection when all they really want, is an opportunity to kill someone. At least in the Army he may believe that shooting people is OK. In fact most deaths in war occur among civillians, NOT military combatants.

Ask yourself these questions.

Are we in danger of an act of aggression from Iraq?

Has ANY Iraqi force targeted American civilians in the US?

Are American servicemen protecting Americans in the middle east?

Or are American servicemen continuing to be maimed or die to support a feudalistic society which does not recognize the rights of women like you, to protest or disagree with men like me?

Education is a wonderful thing. Women all over the middle east are yearning for the freedoms that we all enjoy here. But you are content to have your husband take part in a violent war of aggression to keep women like you subjugate to a feudalistic regime supported, by the extreme right wing of the Republican party, who will be the only people to benefit from this disgraceful and unwinable war.

On this Memorial day, I pray that your husband and all the other husbands, wives, fathers, sons and daughters return safely to their homes and that yours and their children will NEVER have to fight again.

I remember all thos eyoung Americans who went to fight to rid ourselves from those tyranies hwich we now support in the middleast.

Go to the library. Read a book. Get an education and then ask your government to bring the soldiers home.

Looking at Army Wifes writings, I'd send her over there. Give her to the Arabs, and let her see what they do to christian women. It would do America a service, by improving the remaining collective intelligence.

I sure hope her husband isn't fighting to save ignorant fascist people like her. We had enough trouble with people like her in WWII. She would do hitler proud.

Probably also some real right wing christian zealot also.

Honey babes - that gas you are pouring into your car may come from Iraqi oil. No wonder it is tinted red. Hopefully not with the blood of your husband. For if it was, you might just realize that this was a war we didn't have to fight. A war based on lies, to steal Iraqs oil for the wealth of Bush's oil pals.

Thank you, "army wife" for showing everything that is wrong with America's militaristic culture.

In your view, your husband is fighting over in Iraq for what... for the right to come back and tell us all to shut up and kiss his ass because he's a soldier???

You say we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for your husband, but he's in Iraq, which was never a threat to the United States until Bush invaded! Iraq wasn't behind the September 11, 2001 attacks, and didn't have any weapons of mass destruction.

You seem to be promoting the view that everyone in America should just shut up and worship the military and support whatever it does without ever having to bother with basic things like facts.

Sorry, but I've read a lot here at Irregular Times, and they're sticking up for poor patsies like your husband who have been set up to go die in an unnecessary war by the war-loving Republicans in power.

Don't take your frustration out on the people who are defending your husband's right to live!

Why are you against freedom in America, anyway? You're threatening people with death and telling them that they don't have the right to speak, and saying that they have to submit themselves to some kind of ritual abuse by the Army.

That's not just psychologically twisted. It's fascist. Is that what you want your husband to be fighting for... fascism????

Um, Bongstar420, what about the infertile people?

Are they an abomination, too?

Anywho, I still think the short guy's their lawyer.

Can't believe you've missed the grammatical bit in the bumper sticker.

It doesn't read, One man. One woman.
It doesn't even read, One man, one woman.

Nope, this bumper sticker just reads:
One Man One Woman.

Grammatically, what that means is that one man is one woman.

Clearly, the American Family Association is promoting a change in the legal definition of marriage to apply only to autoerotic transexuals. I guess they're more liberal than we thought.

It is a reference to their long standing fertility right. One man + One Woman= One child or more.
The reasoning is that because gay people are biologicaly incapable of producing standard offspring, then it must be an abomination, and therefore outlawed. This is a standard argument amongst fundamentalists as I tend to make discourse with them, and I live with one! They have many correlations, and this is one.
