The Precious Little Girls of President Bush

In an attempt to increase his public persona of a caring father, President Bush recently announced that when he thinks of his twin daughters, “I worry about letting these little girls get into a situation where something unpleasant could happen to them.”

Isn’t that sweet?

For the record, those little girls are 23 years old, 5 years older than tens of thousands of little boys and girls that President Bush knowingly sent into combat in Iraq, to fight a menace that Bush made up in order to score political points.

Bush never sent his “little girls”. His own 23 year-old little girls have spent the Iraq War partying back here in the United States. That’s their right, I suppose, and I will not be among those who suggest that it is the duty of young Americans to join the military and march to their deaths at the order of the President. All young people deserve to remain free and to stay alive.

Still, it would be nice if President Bush would have shown some of the same concern for the little boys and girls of other families that he shows for his own little girls. After all, the “situation” that President Bush’s little girls have to deal with is being young, wealthy, and famous members of the most powerful family in the nation. That’s a situation that most little boys and girls would love to be in.

Bush is worried about his little girls? Cry me a river, Mr. President.

    “Little girls”? At 23?

It is just SO ironic that, in the past 50 years, absolutely NO politician’s child has gone to war with one exception: Senator Albert Gore had a son who was enjoying the benefits of an ivy-league education, when he dropped out of college and VOLUNTARILY ENLISTED in the US Army with a specific request for duty in the Republic of Viet Nam. He spent an entire year there as a Combat Photographer. For those who don’t know, or who choose to minimumize this job, let me clarify: When the unit that this person is attached to “hits the shit”, as the phrase goes, The Combat Photographer suddenly reverts to a prior MOS (Military Occupational Specialty): That MOS is 11B10–Infantryman. All this while Dubya spent his military career in the Texas Air National Guard, defending the Texas airspace from imminent threat from a surprise attack from that sneaky Mexican Air Force…so, why am I not surprised?

I AM SITTING HERE LAUGHING AT YOU GUYS. I’M SORRY YOU’RE SO HIGH AND MIGHTY, AND SMARTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE IN THIS WORLD, BUT YOU’RE REALLY SAD. BUSH WON. GET OVER IT.
HAVE A GREAT TERM, THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL.

  5. Gertrude says:

So let me get this right. You say that you’re sitting there laughing at the 48 percent that did not want Bush to get a 2nd term. Sounds like you’re the high & mighty one.

Remember, a majority of Americans thinks Bush is doing a lousy job – most Americans are not having a “great term”.

It’s telling that you can’t come up with any actual reasons to support Bush, Al-B. All you can do is sneer.

‘Cause the important thing is winning, not being right, or caring about other people.

How are you feeling about Bush now, Al B?

We know how 70% of the United States is feeling about George W. Bush right about now.
