Republican Congressman Literally In Bed With Big Business

Well, it just can’t get any more obvious than this.

We already know that MZM, Inc., the company that’s been bankrolling Virginia Republican Rep. Virgil Goode, has also been “helping” California Republican Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham along, buying Cunningham’s house at a very high price and then selling it for a much lower one. People have been shouting phrases like “bribery,” “corruption,” “influence peddling,” and “buying votes” over this. The Republicans retort “only looks like it,” “just a coincidence,” “a friendly favor with no confidence,” “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain,” and most loudly, “hey, look, another missing white woman!”

But now the Associated Press reports Representative Cunningham is literally in bed with MZM. Mitchell Wade, the chief of MZM Inc., bought a yacht, named it “Duke-stir” after Cunningham, motored it over to Washington, D.C., hooked it up to a dock, and let congressman Cunningham live there and use its comfortable sleeping quarters.

But of course this means nothing. No GOP corruption here! Nossir! Shouldn’t you be out searching the bushes for some missing white woman or something?
