Does Bush Deserve To Be Killed Now?

Max writes in:

At http://www.irregulartimes.com/killbush.html you say, “George W. Bush is a creep, but he’s also a person, and he doesn’t deserve to be killed.”

Not sure when that was written, but do you think he deserves death now after all the Iraqis and US Service men and women who are either maimed or laying in a cold grave?

Does Bush deserve to be publicly mocked? Yes.
Does Bush deserve to be put on trial and incarcerated for his crimes? Yes.
Does Bush deserve to be killed? My answer is still No.

I have sympathy with Max’s emotional frustration, but he’s thinking in a circle without recognizing it: according to Max’s logic, sending other people off to their deaths merits being sent off oneself to death. Why stop at this 270-degree turn? Go the final 90, and you’ll have someone else arguing that Max needs to be sent to his death for sending Bush off to his death for sending other people off to their death for…

… and hello, cycle of violence. The cycle of violence can continue with you, or the cycle of violence can stop with you. It’s your choice. The choice you make marks you.

True. However, I’m afraid the case can be made that a leader can deserve death to prevent future deaths.

And I do mean “afraid”. I’m afraid that someone will make that case, and spark a revolution. If they fail (as they probably would), that spark would light the funeral pyre for the last remnants of American liberty.

Jefferson wrote, “What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” But subsequent experience with revolutions tells us to mistrust those who tell us their ideals outweigh “a few lives”.

    Three reasons NOT to:
    1. Murdering another human being is wrong, wrong,Wrong!!!
    2. Doing so would instantly create a martyr for thr Far-Right.
    3. Do you REALLY want DICK CHENEY in charge???

    The Defense rests its case…

Killing for anything other than direct survival is pretty wrong if you ask me.

Life is still more important than politics, even when it’s Bush.

It would be for survival, look at the 1800+ soldiers dead how many more are there to come until it comes to us?
