When old landmarks crumble, established roads no longer lead the way. New paths open to those with an irregular eye. Our news is unfit for print.

Never good when pointing out someone's actions is all you need to do to insult their name.

Gee, thanks for bringing some class with your genteel style of communication to this discussion, Hank. Facts are facts, and Sanford Bishop seems to be working quite well for the Republicans.

I live in Columbus, GA which is just north of his distict, but I am somewhat familiar with parts of it and I can't say that I am surprised by his actions. This is a poverty-srticken area of the state and in some areas the percentage of people w/ high school degrees is less than 40% and average annual income is $19,000.

Dammit, I'm not in the 2nd district. I don't know anyone who lives in the 2nd district. In fact, I didn't think ANYONE lived in the 2nd district, LOL! Seriously, that's a fairly backwoods area of Georgia—I'm surprised they elected a Democrat at all. Supporting conservative amendments like this is probably the way Mr. Bishop wins over the voters in this part of the state. I wonder which would be worse for that office: a Republican or a right-wing Democrat? At least a Republican wouldn't be sullying the Democratic party name… *insert dramatic eye rolling here*

(BTW, anyone who lives in this part of Georgia, feel free to correct my misconceptions about this region of the state. I'd love to be wrong about it, but I'm looking at the map, and I'm not seeing a whole lot in the way of civilization in the southwest corner of the state…)
