In another sign that the Republican Party has lost touch with reality, Roy Moore is running for governor of Alabama. You may recall that this is the man who as Chief Justice of Alabama refused to obey orders from his own legal superiors to remove a 5,200 pound Ten Commandments monument from the state judicial building. When he refused to obey the law because it didn’t allow him to shove religion down citizens’ throats, he got tossed out of the building and his job.
Keep it up, GOP. Every time some out-of-control goon like Roy Moore waves the Republican banner on the national stage, we’re all reminded how bizarrely extreme and wildly unrepresentative the agenda of the Republican Party has become.
