Poor Joe Lieberman. What is a turncoat toady to do when his master loses power?
Senator Lieberman thought that he could gain power by being a good servant to the powerful elites of the Republican Party. Joseph Lieberman thought that America was all going over to the right wing, and made the calculation that he could advance himself helping the right wing Republicans keep the Democratic Party down. Lieberman has spent the last few years helping the Republicans at every opportunity, choosing to stand with George W. Bush instead of with the progressive values of grassroots Democratic voters.
Oops, Joe. Oops.
America is finally seeing through the shiny veneer placed over the corrupt Republican federal government. Connecticut, where Lieberman faces a re-election contest this year sees the signs of the Republicans’ downfall even more clearly than most of America. A poll out this week shows that, in Connecticut, only 24 percent of eligible voters approve of the job George W. Bush is doing as President of the United States.
Senator Lieberman hitched his pony to the Bush bandwagon, and he has been too blind to untie that hitch. That bandwagon has gone over the edge of a cliff, and it is pulling the Lieberman 2006 re-election campaign down with it. Connecticut voters know very well that Joseph Lieberman has been Bush’s favorite Democrat. Bush’s favorite Democrat is turning out to be Connecticut’s least favorite Democrat.
Progressive Democrat Ned Lamont is challenging Joseph Lieberman in this year’s Democratic primary for the US Senate. You can help Ned Lamont purge the Democratic Party of Lieberman’s corrupting influence. Visit Lamont’s web site, and give his campaign a hand in its effort to restore the integrity of the progressive soul of the Democratic Party.

I have often wondered how Adolph Bush sits down. With only half of Lieberman hanging out of his BUTT he must think he has the worst case of Piles in history. Of course Feinstein is trying to get in there too.
