Military Theme Park to Make War Amusing

Down in Virginia, the military is in talks to work with a private developer to build a military-themed amusement park. An amusement park.

Apparently, plans are to give people the chance to operate simulations of advanced weaponry so that they can pretend that they’re going on missions to kill people.

Oh, how amusing!

Or, you’ll be able to go on a ride where you pretend you’re on a B-17 bomber, and people in other warplanes are coming by and trying to kill you! Then, you get to man the guns and kill them first, sending them falling thousands of feet down to the ground, where their bodies will be smashed to bits.

The essence of amusement!

No one ever told me that a person could be so amused by going to war. Why, I want to be amused, so I’m not going to wait for the park to be built. I’ll sign up to join the military right now! That’s the idea, isn’t it? Everyone knows that learning to march in place and follow orders is a barrel full of monkeys, right?

In all honesty, it was the developer who approached the army with this idea, not the other way around. It has been reported today that the Army has rejected the idea and, if resubmitted, the idea will be DOA. Apparently, even the US Army thought that it was inappropriate.
