Frank Lautenberg: Look for Reality, Lieberman!

My favorite quotes from the Lieberman loss in Connecticut:

“I think he really has to take a look at what reality is.”New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg

“This is a campaign with exciting momentum going forward.” – Matt Lieberman

“You can’t run in Connecticut as Bush and Cheney’s favorite Democrat.” – Irving Stolberg, Connecticut Democrat

“It’s a bad time to be defending the status quo, and if you’re a politician who is defending the president’s war policies at a time we all know that the current strategy isn’t going well, you’re in trouble.” – Eli Pariser of MoveOn

“People are going to look back and say the Bush years started to end in Connecticut.” – Avi Green, Lamont supporter

“The bloggers didn’t just get a win, but a victory no one could have expected.” – Perry Bacon, Time Magazine

“Almost no one saw it coming.” – Shailagh Murray, Washington Post

We here at Irregular Times supported Ned Lamont from the very beginning, even before his official announcement speech, so you’ll forgive us for crowing at this victory for progressive Democrats: Let the word at last be spread, the wicked old Lieberman’s been put to bed!

i sure hope that this is the beginning of the end for the Rethuglicans. They’ve done far too much damage with no accountability.

Wow, hopefully a rather definite turn of the tides is and hand!

(Tides turning? I’m mixing my metaphors there, surely…)
