Judge Parker Comic Strip Takes On Outing of Gay Politicians, Hell Freezes Over, Pigs Fly

Aaaand the fat lady sings! Judge Parker, that old-timey comic strip started up by Nicholas P. Dallis of Rex Morgan, MD fame, is getting ready to tackle the issue of candidates outed as gay in political campaigns. In Sunday’s comic, sleazy operators meet in a greasy backroom poker game to talk about candidate Randy Parker:

– “The guy’s in his late thirties and he’s not married! What’s that tell you?”

– “That he’s smart?”

– “No, Einstein. It means he’s not the marrying kind!”

Today’s strip:

– “I don’t care what you say, Randy Parker is vulnerable!”

– “Are you kidding? He’s straight as an arrow!”

– “You sure about that?”

– “What are you talking about, Reg?”

This is a great topic, and I’m interested to see what happens with it. But more than that, I’m flabbergasted, because otherwise Judge Parker is still stuck in the 50s. What’s next, Jeffy from Family Circus talking about the Afghanistan opium trade?
