A Fireside Chat: Video of Bush in Hell

george w. bush in hell military commissions act

The transcript of this video of a fireside chat with George W. Bush is as follows:

“Good evening. My name is President Bush, and I think it’s time that I show you the secret, undisclosed location that Dick Cheney and I hide out in all the time.

Yes, it’s Hell – or as I like to call it, the White House basement. Oh, but I’m generous. I like to share.

That’s why, today, October 17, 2006, I gave you all Hell on Earth … which you may know as the Military Commissions Act.

Here’s what the Military Commissions Act Does.

1. It revokes habeas corpus

2. It legalizes torture

3. It ends enforcement of the Geneva Conventions

4. It gives me legal amnesty for any war crimes I may have committed

5. It lets me set up kangaroo courts where I can use secret evidence that only I get to look at in order to convict people and sentence them to death – and do it all before an investigation into the alleged crime is committed!

Cackle, cackle, cackle.

6. It gives me the power needed to throw anybody into prison, for any reason, without telling anyone why, or where that person is, or what I’m doing to them. All I have to do is declare you an “enemy”, sucker.

And thank you to all you Americans who let this law pass without lifting a finger to try to stop it.

You sold out America’s freedom… Oh, and that’s not all you sold me.

Cackle, cackle, cackle.”

  1. Patricia says:

Does Bush actually believe in Hell, and if so, is it the classic Hell? After all, Bush is described as calling the right wing evangelicals “nuts”.

Maybe Bush has a New Age vision of Hell – that we make it with our own choices… Choices like the Military Commissions Act.
