The Texas California Campaign of Willie Carter for President

Have you ever heard of Willie Carter? Willie Carter is a Democrat running for President in 2008, but until I found information about him today on the Federal Elections Commissions web site, I had never heard of him. This comes in spite of the fact that Willie Carter has run already run for President in 1996, 2000, and 2004.

The Willie Carter for President campaign started out years ago in Fort Worth, Texas, but now appears to be centered in Long Beach, California. So far this election cycle, the Willie Carter for President Committee has spent 3,258 dollars on what Carter lists as “Candidate’s Quarter’s & CA Address”. That money has come to the campaign on loan from Willie Carter himself.

There will be an online residence for the Willie Carter for President soon, at williecarterforpresident.com, but the site isn’t really up yet. There’s an automatic placeholder at that address currently, which, perhaps unfortunately, for the Willie Carter for President campaign, offers links selling things such as “Car Accessories, Cellular Accessories, Cell Phone Deals, Download Ringtones, Video Games, Gift Ideas” and moving on down to “Credit Cards, Debt Consolidation, Financial Advisor, Loans, Credit Report”.

That domain name was registered on August 31, 2006 – almost three months ago now. I’d advise Willie Carter to replace that placeholder web site with a campaign web site of his own material… or at least a message that a complete web site will be coming soon.

I’ve left a telephone message at the headquarters of Willie Carter for President, and hope to talk to Mr. Carter about his campaign agenda soon. Just what kind of Democrat is Mr. Carter?

For his 2004 campaign, Mr. Carter wrote, “As your president, I will be your cheer leader, and as your water-boy, I will work to insure that every American citizen is encouraged, and given a fresh drink.”

This ought to be interesting. More information to come.
