It’s history in the making: Unity08, the organization that declares it will run the first ever national secure online presidential nomination, has just finished holding its first national online election — participated in by a whopping 33 voters.
That’s right. 33 voters. Nicole has gotten more people than that to vote on how hot her MySpace Profile is.
The vote that drew so few for this “grassroots movement” was to nominate the top five “Nice” congressional politicians and the top five “Naughty” congressional politicians. Yep.
Lest the Unity08 people take down any trace of their first national online election in shame, let me share the results with you here. I’ve tabulated the following results myself. I may have counted incorrectly, but hey: I’m not claiming that I’m going to run the world’s first national secure presidential nomination in just one year.

Presumably they’re going to make a press release out of this, with one final politician named America’s Naughtiest Politician and one final politician named America’s Nicest Politician. I imagine there will be little Santa hats put on their pictures, ho ho ho.
Does Unity08 think it’s really a good idea to publicize the results when the “Nicest” pol got just 10 votes and the “Naughtiest” pol got just 8? If not, then perhaps Unity08 will have the propriety to shelve its entire project and at best do some long-term planning for, say, Unity12. If they really would have the gumption to publicize such results based on so few numbers, what kind of national nominating election can we expect?
