Don’t think for a minute that Unity08 is dead in the water. In the 4th Quarter for which Unity08 has yet to make a financial disclosure to either the IRS or FEC, Unity08 set to hire a new staff member, the Senior Web Director:

The Web Director will have the following specific responsibilities:

Work with senior strategists and COO [that's Chief Operating Officer, Anya T. Harris] to evolve the web strategies for a multitude of web sites, including the “main” Unity08 site (www.unity08.com), the college site (www.collegeunity08.com), the Unity Petition site (www.unitypetition.com), the American Agenda site (www.americanagenda08.com; to be launched in Dec/Jan ‘07) and the Convention Hall site (not yet developed).

Work with COO to develop business requirements, technology requirements, development plans and schedules and budgets associated with all web strategies.

Select all technology outsource vendors and manage relationships, timetables, deliverables and budgets.

Work with COO and other marketing personnel to support online fundraising, membership building and marketing initiatives, to include management of the CRM solution.

Manage all MIS for Unity08.

But that’s not all. Unity08 has hired someone named Erika to post other job listings for the organization. Another position they were hiring for, again in the yet-undisclosed 4th Quarter of 2006, is a copywriter.

For these positions, if “the salary will be competitive to the market,” and “Compensation will be commensurate with experience,” how will Unity08 possibly pay the tab on the basis of its meager donations? Or will someone else be paying the tab?
