The problem of Freedom of Information Act requests that have never been answered by the federal government is so serious that many federal agencies are not even able or willing to accurately report how many requests they have failed to meet. These agencies include even the Office of Information and Privacy within the Department of Justice, the entity within the federal government that is supposed to guide other agencies in complying with the Freedom of Information Act.
We need a strong progressive President dedicated to truly open government, so that the federal government will begin to fully comply with the Freedom of Information Act.
