James T. Walsh’s Moment of Clarity

bumper sticker against the absentee Jim Walsh“I went 10 years without doing a town hall meeting.”

– James T. Walsh, Republican Member of Congress, 25th District, quoted in the New York Times, July 16 2007.

Doesn’t that just about say it all?

If you’ve had enough of James Walsh’s absentee landlordism, give him his moment of accountability come November 2008. Then, freed from the constraints of ever having to speak to his constitutents again, he can go ahead and complete the cycle of his public redemption by going to rehab.

I live in CNY. I think Walsh is out in ’08. So many people in his district hate him, and they don’t even know him yet. Wait till they get to know him. He won’t be able to be elected dog catcher in a town without dogs!

The scientifically impossible I do right away
The spiritually miraculous takes a bit longer
