“Idiopathic” Means They Don’t Know

“Idiopathic” is fancy-pants doctor speak for “we have no idea what caused this.”

Yeah, I noticed that too. Yet, the mainstream news goes to a lot of trouble to say that this seizure is no big deal.

If they don’t know what caused it, how can they say it’s no big deal?

Wonder if they still use phenobarbs for that. Everyone I ever met who was on anti-seizure meds has been a little spacey. Maybe they need to stick him in a fancier hospital until they find something..unless he gets a nosocomial affliction.

A friend of mine once went to a doctor to ask about some little white spots on his hands. “You have idiopathic punctuate leukosis.” “So, I have little white spots, and you don’t know why?” “Um, yeah.”

    That’s called “practicing medicine.”
