Ron Paul Bombs In Iowa

Ron Paul bombed in yesterday’s Republican straw poll, struggling to achieve fifth place. Why?

Maybe it’s because Ron Paul combines political positions in a way that leaves almost no one satisfied. Yes, Ron Paul is anti-war, but he’s alo against separation of church and state, anti-choice and anti-gay. He even manages to put a little disrespect for Rosa Parks into the mix.

It’s no wonder the Ron Paul campaign is foundering. Ron Paul manages to disappoint just about everyone eventually.

I’m surprised — I thought if there was one place Ron Paul would do really well, it would be in Iowa, where there’s a libertarian strain of conservatism.

  2. nicholas lineback says:

Ron Paul is not against separation of Church and State. He is also not anti-gay as you say. He voted against a federal ban on same sex marriages. Individual rights bring us together “group” rights separate us and create tension between groups. Groups are not real things they are just fictions created in our minds.

“Yes, Ron Paul is anti-war, but he’s alo against separation of church and state, anti-choice and anti-gay. He even manages to put a little disrespect for Rosa Parks into the mix.”

Actually, Ron Paul is probably the only Congress member who respects the first Amendment’s stating that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. Congress should no legislate on religious issues AT ALL.

Federal government involvement on abortion is unconstitutional. Paul will let the states decide that issue, which makes sense since the abortion issue is contentious and hotly debated.

And as a previous commenter stated, he is against federal bans on gay marriage. How does that translate to “anti-gay”?

And he offered his own money for a Congressional Medal for Rosa Parks. How is that disrespect to her? Please substantiate your claims.

He wants to get rid of the IRS and has fought against the Patriot Act. You remember the act that stripped America of many of its rights.
To make a stance on Ron Paul over one political disagreement, when he stands for so much Freedom, is absurd. Look up his track record on how he voted in Congress over our taxes. Ron Paul has stated over and over and his actions show he is for our GOD GIVEN RIGHTS “THE CONSTITUTION OF AMERICA”. Unlike George Bush, who thinks the CONSTITUTION is “Just a GD piece of paper”. Wake up America everyone else running wants to take away more of our freedoms. Edwards wants to elliminate SUV’s. The list goes on. We may need to come to an understanding about Pollutions in our World, but let us start with the big high roller Corporations that have taken over our country for the worst by shipping our jobs over seas to dump in there land where restrictions are uncontrolled.

Came across this quite by accident. Read it! BORED!!! Writer must be Bill O’Reilly kin. Why waste time on an idiot named Peregrin who never researched his subject.

  6. Jim says:

But, you see, he DID, Terri. He DID finish low. It’s a fact, whether that meshes with your messianic faith in Ron Paul or not. It also matches the current state of the polls in Iowa. Ron Paul is popular within a small niche of hard-core libertarians and a smattering of white supremacists. He isn’t broadly popular. He just isn’t.

  7. And, Ron Paul is polling at what… at Nine Percent in Iowa against the other Republicans… Des Moines Register poll.

So, how is Ron Paul going to pull a win out of that? I guess I’m just not doing my research if I can’t figure that out for myself.

Ah, but I do have to admit that all the money that kooky Ron Paul has been able to gather has brought him some improvement. He’s now tied for fourth place with lazy Fred Thompson.

Woo hoo! That’s the Ron Paul Revolution, huh?
