Spangler, Lucifer, the United Nations and the New Age
This morning, Irregular Times received an e-mail from Sue, who while using capital letters to warn of a conspiracy to implement the impending North American Union was apparently content to let an advertisement inviting me to “Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL” get stuck on the bottom of her message.
I was particularly struck by the following “quote”:
“No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. ” David Spangler of U.N.
Sue’s not alone in referencing this “quote.” Sherry Shriner is a typical example:
Those in the New World Order who are in control of most of the governments of the world already today declare that to become a citizen of this order will require a Luciferian oath.
Accordingly those in the implementation stages proclaim:
“No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation.”—David Spangler, Director of Planetary Initiative, United Nations
Amongst all the global governing changes and wars that are taking place to accommodate this New World Order many are overlooking the most dominant aspect of it, its religious and occultic nature.
The New World Order IS about religion. It is about worshipping Lucifer.

Notice the lack of hyperlinks? Notice the lack of any attribution whatsoever? I’ve waded through thirty similar websites claiming that David Spangler is a Director of Planetary Initiative at the United Nations, and none have any source for the contention. The United Nations website refers to no Planetary Initiative headed by David Spangler (aha!, you say, hidden just like the black helicopters!). The United Nations website does not refer to any employment of David Spangler (aha!, hidden just like the implanted microchips!). I can find no evidence that this quotation exists anywhere but in the minds of the people who spread it.
Where did the idea come from? The Findhorn Foundation, with which he had some involvement three decades ago, proclaims that it has been an officially recognized United Nations nongovernmental organization. The United Nations specifically states of nongovernmental organizations that work with it:
Please note that association of NGOs with DPI does not constitute their incorporation into the United Nations system, nor does it entitle associated organizations or their staff to any kind of privileges, immunities or special status.
Could this very loose and decades-past association with an organization that indeed is currently associated with the United Nations as an NGO be what sparked this notion?
And why David Spangler? He provides the non-Christian aspect of the conspiracy, as a teacher of online courses through the Lorian Association and the a number of books about spiritual “manifestation”. He’s been in touch with “non-physical entities” and “inner plane beings” for many years now, apparently. If you think that’s especially weird, ask Auntie Gertrude about her weekly habit of drinking God’s kid’s blood. It’s different-enough sounding for somebody to make the “Lucifer” connection and to have it stick, apparently.
The United Nations Lucifer quotation claim appears to be utter baloney. But what a strange and interesting baloney run it has been.

A fascinating character, this David Spangler, apparently the first person to use the term “new age”. I’m not really sure you can call him non-Christian though. The Findhorn group seems to regard what they do as very Christian, and still credits Spangler with setting up the religious part of their organization back in the 70’s. (The UN is probably more interested in their unique waste recycling system.) They make the distinction that they are “non-denominational” and open to all religions, and also use the phrase “post-traditional”, which I take to mean they use the forms and ritual structures of religion without referencing the doctrines.
I was thinking Spangler seems to have some pretty original thought, until I got to the part where he says he has voices in his head. Oh, well. Thanks for unearthing him, anyhow.

It would be nice to think that David Spangler didn’t really make that statement about having to undertake a luciferian initiation in order to enter into the New Age/New World Order…but he did. In 1978 I was drafted to the Kinloss air force base, right next door to the Findhorn foundation. I was fascinated by the place. I have visited the community many times, as recently as two weeks ago - their community shop has some very nice organic foods and other goodies! Back in the 80’s I purchased a book there called ‘Reimagination of the World’ co-authored with William Bloom. In it Spangler puts forward his luciferian doctrine. That ultimately the human race must embrace lucifer so that he and we might be free. I don’t even like talking about these things but Im afraid they’re true.
I don’t know if Spangler has been involved with the UN but I know he has been very influential in New Age spiritual/political circles. One of Oprah Winfrey’s favourite new age motivational speakers - Marrianne Williamson - cites him as a friend and mentor.
This is it ladies and gentlemen, the beginning of the end! Christ’s return is imminent. Repent, all of you and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, so that you may receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. When He returns he will take all of His children (real Christians) up to Heaven, leaving the rest behind. To all of you who think i am crazy, it is ok because i forgive you. But i will say this, if you do not heed this warning; when you are left on the earth, the beast will come and force you to receive the mark (666) and if you don’t receive it, you will suffer greatly from torture and/or starvation. All your life you wanted proof of Christ’s existence, well here it is! don’t take it for granted.

The issue is the impression in some peoples minds that somehow NGO’s are official UN arms.
Some years ago I web wandered into the Lucifer Publishing/Lucis Trust, which claims to be the Spiritual foundation of the UN.

Luci’s Trust is sponsored by among others Robert McNamara, former minister of Defence in the USA, president of the World Bank, member of the Rockefeller Foundation, and Thomas Watson (IBM, former ambassador in Moscow). Luci’s Trust sponsors among others the following organizations: UN, Greenpeace Int., Greenpeace USA, Amnesty Int. and UNICEF.
I didn’t correct the various spelling errors, such as Luci’s instead of Lucis. I wonder if Luci is evil like Lucifer?
Additionally there is Benjamin Crème and Maitreya! The World teacher…One woman clains to have channeled Maitreya to the UN.. I listened to that and it was creepy.
Seems a lot of nuts are somehow attracted to the UN.

I have never heard of this guy and this group. I stay out of the hunt for possible antichrists and what not. Its a waste of time. When he comes he will fool so many people nobody will notice at first.
I agree that this doesnt sound satanic. It sounds inoccent. Its only when you lay it side by side with scripture do you see the conection.
Here’s a Spangler quote, very similar to the one presented. It’s from ‘Reflections on the Christ’ (1981), Findhorn Lecture Series, Third edition, p. 45.
“The true light of Lucifer cannot be seen through sorrow, through darkness, through reflection.
