David Spangler was on the Board of Directors of a separate organization, Planetary Citizens. But Planetary Citizens was a private organization (see also here: http://www.hoveyda.net/planet1.html) which celebrated the United Nations with its own First Planetary Celebration Day on October 24 2012. That was not a United Nations event, and Planetary Citizens was not part of the United Nations.

None of this even remotely makes David Spangler part of the United Nations.
