Irregular Times: News Unfit to Print Logo

It is a time of fear in the face of freedom, a time of barricaded roads and new paths. Maps fade and direction is lost as we glance sideways at the strange lands through which we pass, knowing for certain only that our destination has disappeared. We are unready to meet these times but we proceed nonetheless, adapting as we wander, reshaping the Earth with every tread. Gone are the old times, the standard times, the high times. Welcome to the irregular times.

agnostic against bush bumper stickerI had the pleasure of running across one of our bumper sticker graphics in an unexpected place yesterday, as the avatar for the stumbleupon account of a man from Louisiana named John Scott. The bumper sticker: Agnostics Against Bush – Some Things We Know For Sure. If we were a big company with a team of lawyers, we might get uptight about intellectual property rights and threaten to sue, but that’s not what we’re about. If he were alive today, Oscar Wilde might have said that cutting and pasting is the sincerest form of flattery, and I’m glad to see that the message of this bumper sticker resonates with some people.

In fact, seeing that bumper sticker out there has convinced me to update the idea for the 2008 election. Here they are, ready for the time when the Republicans choose their presidential nominee out of the current rotten field of candidates:

  • Agnostics Against Romney
  • Agnostics Against Giuliani
  • Agnostics Against McCain
  • Agnostics Against Thompson
