Bush’s State Department Engaged in a Blackwater Coverup

Sometimes I wish Henry Waxman, the Chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, would do more than talk, but sometimes he can uncover a fair amount of stink with just the right questions. Yesterday, Rep. Waxman sent Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice an open letter. You can read it in full for yourself, but here’s the excerpt that made my eyebrows arch:

Yes, you read that right: someone in George W. Bush’s State Department told Blackwater to not give relevant documents to government investigators who are looking into the contractor’s record of violence and corruption in Iraq.

Coverup.
