I haven’t been a member of the Democratic Party for about a year now, but that’s not stopping the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from sending me mail. Today, I got one of those “surveys” from them in the mail. I put the word “surveys” in quotes because the thing is not really a survey at all. It’s a request for money.
The Democratic Party sends out these supposed surveys, that come along with an envelope reading, “Please detach and fold your completed survey and return it, along with your contribution, in this pre-addressed return envelope” The Democrats take the completed surveys and throw them in the garbage. They cash the checks.
I’ve given plenty to the Democrats in the past, but this year, with failure after failure, I have this message for them: Stop your damned fundraising and get the hell to work! If the Democratic leadership wants that survey back, they can fill in this blank: How about you get the American people our liberty back instead of voting to give more of it away?
The Democrats in Congress can gather all the money they want to spend on television commercials, but they’re not going to get my vote until I see the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act and the Protect America Act – all passed with the help of congressional Democrats – repealed.
