![]() | Channeling Lady Liberty to Ask a YouTube Debate Question |
YouTube is soliciting videos of up to 30 seconds to be submitted as questions in the November 28, 2007 Republican Party presidential debate. That’s this Wednesday, and they’re accepting video questions until the end of tomorrow, Sunday the 25th of November. Not too late for you. There are only 4,000 submissions. If you put in a decent question, you’ll have a better chance to be heard on national television than most people ever get. Still a small chance, but the chance is there.
Here is the question I put together. I’m channeling Lady Liberty, who asks in the short time frame two questions:
1. Will the candidates who believe waterboarding meets the legal definition of torture please raise their hands?
2. Will the candidates who do not raise their hands agree to be waterboarded on national TV in the month before the Iowa Caucuses?
I would be surprised if the censors get the point and let this one through. But oh boy, if they do, I’d love to see how the candidates answer it.
Do you have a good question for the Republicans inside of you? It’s not too late. Cobble together a video and submit it by the end of Sunday!
It is a time of fear in the face of freedom, a time for the widening of previous roads and the opening of new paths, a time of an emptying country and swelling cities, yet a time when these paths are mined by knowing algorithms of the all-seeing eye. It is the time of the warrior's peace and the miser's charity, when the planting of a seed is an act of conscientious objection.
