Santa Claus Thanks Chris Dodd For Filibustering For Freedom Today

santa claus chris dodd fisa filibuster cartoon movieSanta Claus appears in this cartoon to thank Senator Chris Dodd for filibustering in the Senate today to prevent the FISA Amendments Act of 2007 from being passed into law. The new law would have given retroactive legal immunity to telecommunications companies for helping the Bush White House spy on Americans using the Internet and other electronic communications networks.

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joseph Biden and John McCain all let the law sail on through the Senate. They didn’t lift a finger to stop this assault on American liberty.

They left it up to Chris Dodd to do the work to defend freedom. So, Chris Dodd stood up and spoke at great length in the Senate today. He spoke about what it means to be a mature American, someone who has the intelligence, integrity, and endurance necessary to stand up for freedom, even when it isn’t convenient to do so.

Chris Dodd earned my respect today, and he earned the respect of Santa Claus too.
