Caption Challenge: McCain and Lieberman, Sitting in a Tree

So John McCain was endorsed yesterday by the not-a-Democrat-at-all Joseph Lieberman. Here’s a picture of the two little lovebirds:

But whatever could they be saying?

  1. truly scrumptious says:

My goodness! All this time, I assumed that those messages I kept getting in my email inbox must be lying, but you’re right, Joe. There really is an improvement!

  2. Vicki Hampton says:

The only sentence that I can complete is: Irregular Times, well you have the irregular part right because that insinuation is full of sh#$.

  3. F.G. Fitzer says:

    - “Joe, did you ever meet anyone named Vicki Hampton?”

    - “Why yes John, I did, just now out in the lobby. She seemed to have absolutely no sense of humor.”

    - “What accounts for it, though?”

    - “Probably listening to too many of our speeches.”

  4. Jim says:

“And if you press that button on my back, my wings pop out. They shoot darts from the tips, with a AAA battery (not included). Now only $14.99 at participating retailers!”

  5. jeff says:

John, “So, back when I was in the Hanoi Hilton, they used to grab you right here, for hours, and threaten to cut ‘it’ off if you didn’t tell them what they wanted to hear.”

Joe, “My, my, John. I knew there was a reason you were pro-torture.”

  6. Jim says:

Ah, but he isn’t. He’s the only one of the Republicans who isn’t.

  7. Ralph says:

“Remember the old days, back when we ran for president?”

  8. He isn’t for torture, Jim? He voted for the Military Commissions Act, which enables torture.

  9. Iroquois says:

He used to be against torture, being a prisoner of war and stuff, until Dubya had a little chat with him, they were much photographed together, and McCain backed down. That’s when he lost support of some grassroots Republicans who thought he was pretty sensible before that. So, it turns out that he does have values, but what he values is following the leadership no matter what they do. That was the beginning of the end for him in the polls.
