![]() | Will Everybody Stop It With the Compressed Election Calendar Talk? |
Oh, please, enough with the talk about compressed election calendars and how the presidential candidates have had only five days to campaign in New Hampshire and how the citizens, these poor dears, just don’t have enough time to evaluate the candidates and make up their minds.
There have been dozens of debates for nearly a full year on various national television networks, and on the radio, and streamed on the internet. There have been thousands of newspaper articles regarding the presidential candidates, and the internet not only contains the candidates’ websites but innumerable commentary and reference websites as well. Anybody who heads to a primary or a caucus feeling that they don’t know who the candidates are can’t blame a shortened campaign schedule for that. There’s been more than enough time to look at the crop of Democratic and Republican presidential candidates. Whether Americans have bothered to use that time is another matter.
