![]() | January 15 NBC Debate: Thank Goodness For Demise of WhoSaidWhatWhen |
I have to say I’ve been getting pretty impatient with the barrage of fervid communications from campaign underlings to the effect that so-and-so doesn’t like Martin Luther King or that such-and-such third hand aide was mean for saying that such-and-such wasn’t as big a back-and-forth as the other team’s fourth-string-press-flack said on Thursday. I haven’t been blogging about it because I think it’s a distraction from policy discussion. But now I will say I am glad the candidates have decided in tonight’s debate to say enough and move on from the bickering. The candidates are fairly focused on policy and I appreciate it.
It is a time of fear in the face of freedom, a time for the widening of previous roads and the opening of new paths, a time of an emptying country and swelling cities, yet a time when these paths are mined by knowing algorithms of the all-seeing eye. It is the time of the warrior's peace and the miser's charity, when the planting of a seed is an act of conscientious objection.
