Lou Dobbs Has More Support Than Mike Bloomberg

As Jim wrote earlier this morning, the show of support for the idea of Michael Bloomberg for President has been unimpressive so far: Only 1,068 people have signed the Draft Mike Bloomberg petition.

That’s a particularly pathetic showing when one considers the number of people who have added their signatures to the effort to draft Lou Dobbs for President: So far, 1,191 have signed in support of Lou Dobbs running for the White House in 2008.

That’s particularly embarrassing for Bloomberg, because Dobbs has definitely said that he is not going to run for President, whereas Bloomberg has made it clear that he wants to run for President.

Note to mainstream media newsrooms: There is no popular call for Michael Bloomberg to run for President. The whole idea is engineered by Bloomberg himself, and public relations people working for him. Given the profound lack of public support for Bloomberg, why don’t you stop the hyperbolic ranting and panting about a possible Bloomberg for President campaign, and just let Bloomberg spend some of his billions of dollars on advertisements if he wants to get his message out?
