Read the Google Cache of the "Arizona Sentinel" blog cut-and-paste hack job that right-wingers are claiming "proves" that Barack Obama applied to Occidental College as a foreigner. As you'll see with a quick read and the most minimal effort to find the faked sources referred to within, it's a hoax. Also a hoax, therefore, is the claim by right-wingers that the "Arizona Sentinel" is a newspaper website taken down by The Man because conspiracy theorists were TOO CLOSE to the truth! Will Barack Obama Stand for Change Really, Or Just Rhetorically?

Here is today’s schedule for Barack Obama:

Barack Obama Schedule of Events January 24 2008 to Stand for Change instead of Filibustering

It involves a lot of “Stand for Change” events, doesn’t it? The thing is, way back in October of 2007 Barack Obama committed to Stand for Change in reality, not just rhetoric. The Obama campaign committed back in October of 2007 to support Senator Christopher Dodd’s efforts to stop the FISA Amendments Act, including support for a filibuster. And yesterday, Barack Obama reiterated his commitment, saying:

I strongly oppose retroactive immunity in the FISA bill. No one should get a free pass to violate the basic civil liberties of the American people â€” not the president of the United States, and not the telecommunications companies that fell in line with his warrantless surveillance program…

So what will Barack Obama do today? As the FISA Amendments Act comes to the floor and Senator Dodd readies his filibuster, will Barack Obama stand up for the constitution and rule of law? Will he Stand for Change by resisting the bill’s effort to give telecommunications corporations immunity for their illegal acts? Or will Barack Obama abandon his responsibilities as a Senator and just give lip service to “Standing for Change” with some flowery speeches to adoring crowds?

Does Barack Obama care more about this country or his personal ambitions? We’re going to find out today.
