How to Break Apart the Two Party System: Vote On Wednesday

I have stumbled upon the key to breaking the stranglehold of the two big parties on national politics. You see, I have found after much research that since the two parties we have now began rivaling one another in the 1860s, the Republican and Democratic party presidential candidates have won election only when the national election has been held on a Tuesday. Empirically speaking, the rule is ironclad. It has never been broken, not even once. The evidence points to one clear conclusion: if Americans want to break the stranglehold of the two-party system and elect a third party candidate, voting should be moved to another day. I suggest Wednesday, because saying the word makes me think of a Jane Austen novel, and I do so enjoy reading Jane Austen novels.

It also makes me think of cheese.
