    Ultimately, it was a tie… but Obama had to prove that he was credible, and at this he absolutely succeeded. He also communicated more effectively to independents, disenfranchised Republicans, Edwards supporters, and Richardson supporters.

    In other words, while the debate won’t change many minds amongst those who are already decided, Obama won the undecided vote, and silenced doubters who might be on the fence, making it a lot easier to support him.

    Victory for Obama.

    How do you win a debate? Do you convince the other person to your way of thinking? Whoever convinces the most people wins? i don’t get it.
    i thought the purpose was to state ones’ views.

    It’s basically preaching to the choir, in the hopes of drawing some recruits from the camp of the other side(s) for everyone involved.
