John McCain Wants More Iraq “Victory”

Asked yesterday about the ongoing violence in Iraq, John McCain declared, “I want us to continue to have this victory.”

Victory? When I look up the word “victory” in the American Heritage Dictionary of the English language, here’s the definition I see: “Defeat of an enemy or opponent.”

What opponent has been defeated in Iraq? Saddam Hussein? Sure, but that was five years ago now.

What opponent of the United States military in Iraq has been defeated since then? Not a single one – not even close.

There is no victory in Iraq, but John McCain thinks there is. McCain is following a bizarre military fantasy of some kind, an illusion of victory where victory clearly does not exist.

John McCain has warned us: He wants more of what’s been happening in Iraq. He wants it to continue.

Do you? Do you want more of what’s been happening in Iraq?
