Come Work At Our Great Educayshunal Institution

Somehow I’ve gotten on a mailing list resulting in a recruitment postcard being sent to me. The postcard asks whether I’d like to apply to work at a university in southeastern Kentucky. You see, the university is looking to add new instructors “to its’ team due to growth and demand.” They tell me that if I get the job, I’ll get “income commiserate with experience.” Also, I can run away from the rat race of academia and avoid the “heavy competition among specialist.” I imagine the benefits are gooder than anywhere else.

Oooh, my ears are twitching to know what school this would be. At least you could tell us if they offer a curriculum in Intelligent Design?

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a job posting come up on Monster that called for experience with the programming language Erlang. Never mind the details; suffice it to say that Erlang is a very rare language, and it’s on my résum´.

So far, I have gotten calls and email messages from seven bottom-feeder recruiters—the spammers of the recruiting world, the sort that don’t have a relationship with the employer or the employee, but just spend their time trawling for leads.
