Someone, anyone, explain to me: why I should pay $9.99 a month for the privilege of adding my response to unrepresentative polls on my mobile phone? That’s what Predicto.com has in mind. Someone, anyone, explain to me why I should do this considering the following additional terms:
* Further text-message charges every time I vote in these cell-phone polls
* The surrender of rights to my first name, my last name and the content of my poll responses for Predicto to use without compensation
* Predicto has the right to sell information about my polling behavior to corporations whenever it wants
* Predicto doesn’t guarantee that I will actually be able to use its service
* Predicto will use its information about me to bombard me and my phone with advertisements for other pieces of crap
Oh, yeah, baby, I want to pay ‘em my hard earned cash for the privilege… I’ll get to it right after I’m done sticking my head in a microwave oven.
Seriously, why would anyone in their right mind want to pay money to take part in this scam? Explain to me in teeny-tiny words how it all actually makes sense.
