I used to read TalkLeft for intelligent analysis of legal issues from a liberal perspective. That was before TalkLeft converted into a partisan pro-Clinton blog. Now I read it only for amusement to see how information is shifted, twisted, or just plain ignored to favor Hillary Clinton or make Barack Obama look bad.
The same goes for DailyKos, which is no longer a source for information I can take seriously. The posts and diaries there are breathlessly silly in their constant and perpetual assertions that the campaign is now “over,” “done,” “ended” — today! Always today, no matter when today is. Today, the reason that the campaign is over today is that apparently Hillary Clinton said this week that she ran for the cars at an airport in Bosnia back in the nineties… while video shows that she actually stopped to shake a girl’s hand there! Oh! My! God! Can the world ever recover from this display of unpresidential behavior? Tomorrow, there will be a new reason that the campaign is over today, which is today tomorrow but tomorrow today.
People, the campaign is not over today. It’s all right to have dissonance. It’s okay for that dissonance to be ongoing. In fact, I’ve found that dissonance to be illuminating. It’s all right to have disagreement. Hillary Clinton does not have a swishy forked tail. Barack Obama does not have horns. And you know what? John McCain does not even eat his own children. Shocking, but true. He eats other people’s children.
