McCain’s Version Of Victory Is the Kind of Victory We All Can Do Without

Any shred of doubt that the American economy is being devastated by the military occupation of Iraq fell away today, as the price of a barrel of oil shot up past $107.00. Americans are going to be paying more for a gallon of gasoline because of the American military presence in Iraq. Businesses will be paying more for gasoline too, meaning that prices for everything that we buy will be increasing too.

This one attack proves the link between the weakness of the American economy and the out of control violence in Iraq. Yet, John McCain has declared victory in Iraq. In fact, John McCain declared victory in Iraq five years ago.

To say that John McCain doesn’t understand what’s going on is to describe his incompetence in very polite terms.
