Following up on J. Clifford’s examination of media coverage of and individual searches for Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain, I thought it might be interesting to use the same Google Trends tool to look at news and search volume regarding three “who said what” scandals regarding the three candidates:
1. Obama’s former pastor Jeremiah Wright, who has said some nutty things about the U.S. Government causing AIDS, and who has said that America is a damnable place.
2. Clinton’s historically inaccurate claim that she landed in Tuzla (a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina) under sniper fire and had to run for the trucks.
3. McCain’s endorsement by John Hagee, sought after by McCain. Hagee says that gays cause hurricanes, calls for war against secular Americans, and claims that Jews are to blame for the Holocaust.
Here are the Google Trends results of media coverage and people’s searches for Jeremiah Wright, Tuzla and John Hagee.
Media coverage of and individual searches for Jeremiah Wright spiked far higher than those regarding Tuzla. Searches and news stories regarding John Hagee were the smallest of all, making it the least attended-to scandal of the Spring among the three.

Why did John McCain get a free ride?
It looks like there’s an anti-Obama bias in the media.

i noticed that hagee was building momentum among the leftwingers and the MSM until the wright controversy made the hagee issue against mccain impotent.
