Mother Davis carries a box of recycling out to the curb, and then notes,
George Stephanopolous will be one of two hosts on the Democratic presidential debate to be held tonight by ABC News. Stephanopolous has been with ABC News for about ten years now, and so in a sense, one might expect him to be a moderator.
However, there’s the issue of Stephanopolous’s previous job. Does anyone remember what that was? Yes, he was a senior staffer in the White House under Bill Clinton.
Stephanopolous was one of many White House officials to leave during the Monica Lewinsky scandal. James Carville, another Clinton staffer who stayed on, kicked Stephanopolous about the perceived betrayal of the Clintons with his book Stickin’.
I don’t pretend to be a Washington D.C. insider. I don’t know everything that’s gone on between George Stephanopolous and Bill and Hillary Clinton. Still, it’s pretty clear to anyone who has paid attention to Stephanopolous’s career that he’s not at all objective when it comes to the Clinton. He’s been mixed in with them for too long, and whether that makes him biased in favor or in opposition to Hillary Clinton I can’t say, but bias is there.
Giving Stephanopolous the position of moderating a debate in which Hillary Clinton is one of two contenders seems to threaten the ethical integrity of the production. I will be watching the debate tonight, but as I do, I will be watching Stephanopolous with a critical eye.

“seems to threaten the ethical integrity of the production” — As it turns out, they dodged that bullet by not *having* any integrity to threaten.
“integrity” confused with “substance”
