"The secret of ugliness consists not in irregularity, but in being uninteresting." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

The writings of white supremacist shooter James Von Brunn on Free Republic, and right-wing readers' positive reaction to his writings, is mirrored here for historical reference. Free Republic has taken the post down, trying to shove it down the memory hole.

Read the Google Cache of the "Arizona Sentinel" blog cut-and-paste hack job that right-wingers are claiming "proves" that Barack Obama applied to Occidental College as a foreigner. As you'll see with a quick read and the most minimal effort to find the faked sources referred to within, it's a hoax. Also a hoax, therefore, is the claim by right-wingers that the "Arizona Sentinel" is a newspaper website taken down by The Man because conspiracy theorists were TOO CLOSE to the truth! See here for a debunking of the fake "article."

Had it up to here with the silence of the Speaker of the House during years and years of U.S. Government torture? Then shout it to the highest clouds: Nancy Pelosi, Resign!

John McCain Would Be Rotten For the Environment

John McCain likes to say that he would be an environmentalist President. Of course, it’s easy to make promises when you’re just campaigning to become President. Remember how George W. Bush said he would protect Social Security in a “lock box”, would avoid nation building, and said his presidency would be characterized by compassion?

So now John McCain says he’s going to be an environmentalist President. Big deal. He could say that he’s going to give everybody a new car if elected President.

What is John McCain’s actual record on the environment? It doesn’t look good.

The League of Conservation Voters is a non partisan organization that rates members of Congress according their support for or opposition to environmental legislation.

Last year, LCV gave John McCain its lowest rating possible: Zero Percent.

Other Republicans scored higher in the ratings than John McCain. Senator Kyl, a Republican also from Arizona, got a 13 percent. That’s not good at all, but it’s better than McCain.Norm Coleman of Minnesota got a 33 percent rating. Republican Arlen Specter got a 60 percent rating. Republican Senator Olympia Snowe got an 80 percent rating.

McCain got a zero.

That’s not the only zero McCain got. From our own Progressive Patriots progressive legislation scorecard, McCain gets a zero percent rating as well.

Don’t blindly believe the words of the McCain for President campaign. Look at McCain’s actions as a Senator. John McCain is no environmentalist, and he’s no moderate.
