Really, aren’t the attacks against Barack Obama getting about this silly? As if the Republicans hadn’t made big enough idiots out of themselves with their mountain of failures under George W. Bush, now they’re careening out of control with absurd claims about Barack Obama:
- Obama is a fundamentalist Islamic terrorist and a radical anti-religion Marxist at the same time
- Obama is involved in a secret conspiracy from Kenya to create a one world government
- Obama, a man who was raised by a single mother and needed to earn scholarships to go to college is an elitist, whereas John McCain, who owns eight houses and supports tax cuts for the rich, is a man of the people
- Obama is the antichrist
I feel genuine compassion for these Republicans. They’ve been told that certain things are true, and then seen those supposed truths discredited one by one. The people they’ve put their trust in have abused them.
It’s hard to let go of old ideas that just don’t work any more – even if those ideas hurt. That’s why these Republicans are becoming so extreme in their desperation to destroy Barack Obama. They just don’t want to give up their Republican vision of the world, no matter how out of touch it has become, so they need to go to the absolute extreme before they’ll be ready to admit they were wrong.
Let me help them. I’ve constructed the next step in the Republican conspiracy theory machine for them, to help them get to that ideological low point more quickly… and then we progressives will be there to help them pick up the pieces.

This is exactly why I don’t vote. It is never about why the person should be voted into office, but always about why they shouldn’t. If Barack is the guy then guess what all you jury duty serving voters will put him in office. Whether it will be Clinton, or McCain who knows. But there is no need for anyone to degrade another fellow human for political power or positioning. See the problem with some of my fellow Christians is that they feel that it is more important to push a man’s name before they push Christ’s name.
