 | For The People Claiming Global Cooling |
Some people out there are cycling and recycling the claim that we are actually undergoing global cooling:
Joe: “global cooling for ten years”
FOX News: “Now there is word that all four major global temperature tracking outlets have released data showing that temperatures have dropped significantly over the last year.”
To these global cooling talkers (none of whom provide links to actual data) I have only this to show:
Would words help? OK, here are some words for you:
The year 2007 tied for second warmest in the period of instrumental data, behind the record warmth of 2005, in the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) analysis. 2007 tied 1998, which had leapt a remarkable 0.2°C above the prior record with the help of the “El Niño of the century”. The unusual warmth in 2007 is noteworthy because it occurs at a time when solar irradiance is at a minimum and the equatorial Pacific Ocean is in the cool phase of its natural El Niño-La Niña cycle.
We have been undergoing a long-term period of global warming. In that long-term period there have been short-term periods of cooling that do not offset the long term.
Are NASA and the Goddard Institute for Space Studies part of the conspiracy?

To be quoted along with Fox news made my month! You could have got that quote from CNN too. If I sent in a picture of me with a “I Heart Halliburton” Shirt would you post it? Starting to notice that no one posts much on any articles on this site. Am I on here with four fifty year old men that live in their mom’s basement that post under names like 2cute4werds on the teenie blogs? I hope that doesn’t offend Jim I know he got all bent about the “Man boy Love” comment on his anti-Jesus post.
