The next time someone tells you that the heart of the Republican Party is with everyday working folks, the little guy, Jane and Joe Sixpack, you tell ‘em this:
The Bush administration is working in secret to poison America’s workers.
It’s not a fib. Carol Leonnig of the Washington Post reports today that the Bush administration is rolling out a new federal rule that would weaken Americans’ protections from exposure to poisons in the workplace.
They’re doing it in secret — violating protocol for notifying the public months in advance.
They still haven’t released the text to the public, so Leonnig had to dig a copy up on her own.
They wrote the rule without even consulting the relevant scientists at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), turning another standard practice on its head.
When OSHA found out about the rule and told the Bush administration that the rule was rotten, the Bush administration ignored the advice and accelerated its schedule.
The public — that’s you — that’s the poisoned ones — will only have 30 days to comment.
But they’ve already got pundits at industry-funded media outfits writing up op-ed pieces for the papers praising the new rule. At least one of these pundits has also been paid by the Bush administration for her work on the rule.
Does it betray liberal bias for the Washington Post to let Americans know that this new rule exists?

Once you get rid of all the unions, ship the workers jobs overseas then import workers to do the jobs that “Americans won’t do” and finally fill congress with do-nothing politicians who refuse to impeach a criminal. If you are that criminal and the President of this mess.
