The Connection Between Religiosity and Fear Makes Me Go Hmm

Have you ever noticed that the people who are most likely to support fear-based policies — like curfews for Junior, drug tests for your second grader, sniper lockdown drills for your kindergartener, warrantless wiretaps of grandma, massive preemptive datamining of your veterinary expenditures, biometric screening at the laundromat, taser-first policies at Korean grocers and that whole pesky war-at-first-resort thing — are highly religious people? You know, the people who believe they are going to heaven?
