Civilians in Afghanistan Killed In Truth Bomb

The government of Afghanistan says that the U.S. military has killed 76 civilians. U.S. military representatives say that’s not true, that when they dropped a bomb on a house in the province of Herat, they killed 30 people, and all of those people were militants. The Los Angeles Times reports,

“The U.S. military initially put the number of dead at 30, describing all of those killed Friday in a remote part of Herat province, on Afghanistan’s western border, as Taliban militants. On Saturday, U.S. spokesmen said that five of the dead were believed to be women or children, and that allegations of a much higher and predominantly civilian death toll would be investigated.”

So, if all of those 30 people killed were militants, were some of them militant children? If the American military really knew what it was bombing in the first place, why the uncertainty? Why the need for an investigation?

The military’s version of the truth is a bomb.

It’s the policy of the military to kill first and ask questions later.
