"The secret of ugliness consists not in irregularity, but in being uninteresting." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

The writings of white supremacist shooter James Von Brunn on Free Republic, and right-wing readers' positive reaction to his writings, is mirrored here for historical reference. Free Republic has taken the post down, trying to shove it down the memory hole.

Read the Google Cache of the "Arizona Sentinel" blog cut-and-paste hack job that right-wingers are claiming "proves" that Barack Obama applied to Occidental College as a foreigner. As you'll see with a quick read and the most minimal effort to find the faked sources referred to within, it's a hoax. Also a hoax, therefore, is the claim by right-wingers that the "Arizona Sentinel" is a newspaper website taken down by The Man because conspiracy theorists were TOO CLOSE to the truth! See here for a debunking of the fake "article."

Had it up to here with the silence of the Speaker of the House during years and years of U.S. Government torture? Then shout it to the highest clouds: Nancy Pelosi, Resign!

The Surge Works With Execution Style Killings By US Soldiers

The surged worked! Of course, that depends on what your definition of worked is.

If you include execution-style revenge killings by American soldiers in the category of what works, then yes by gum, the surge in Iraq really worked.

American soldiers have admitted that, during the surge, that they took Iraqis prisoner, and then took them out to the edge of a dirty canal, handcuffed them, made them kneel down, shot them in the back of their heads, and then dumped the bodies to cover up their crimes.

There was no reason to believe that the Iraqi prisoners had done anything wrong at all to deserve execution. In fact, the U.S Army had ordered the prisoners to be released because there was no evidence against them.

Nonetheless, Sergeant John E. Hatley, Sergeant Joseph P. Mayo, and Sergeant Michael P. Leahy Jr. executed the prisoners in cold blood. The following statement was made by Leahy: “The patrol went to the canal, and First Sergeant, Sgt. First Class Mayo and I took the detainees out of the back of the Bradley, lined them up and shot them. Then we pushed the bodies into the canal and left.”

Here’s where it gets really nasty: Sergeant Michael P. Leahy Jr. is an Army medic. His job is to save lives, but instead, he took part in the murder of innocent men, kneeling helpless, handcuffed and blindfolded in front of him.

Well, even though those prisoners didn’t do anything wrong in the first place, now they won’t ever have the chance to do anything wrong any time in the future. So, the surge worked, you see… in the sense that fascism worked to get the trains running on time. Then again, the trains in fascist Italy didn’t actually run on time. The fascists just said that they did.

That’s how the surge works too.

Yeah, the surge is working as evidenced by the continuing violence from car bombs and suicide bombers as well. The media ignores this while McCain keeps claiming “it worked”.
The Iraqi government is in disarray about many of their own problems but is united in wanting us out of their country.

Unfit for print is right. You do not know what you are talking about. Having served with this company in Baghdad before and during the surge I can tell you first hand that we executed our job to the highest standards known to the military. This reason and this reason alone is why the surge worked, idiot. You mention that these insergents were innocent, guess again bud, these four were captured by my platoon after executing an attack on one of our patrols. They were guilty and the reason we had to release them was because we could only hold them for a short period of time before the corrupted Iraqi court system realeased them. Leahy and the others that took part had just seen two fellow soldiers die, had little sleep, and were in constant threat of being killed. They made the wrong choice and for that they will pay but for some jack ass to infer that the surge was a success becasue of actions such as these is just blowing smoke. Know your facts before you make an ass of yourself. Ohh yeah and by the way your welcome, your welcome for the freedoms you still have because of braver, better individuals that voluntarely give up their freedoms to ensure you have yours.

Wait a minute, “Fellow Soldier”. These two items in your comment don’t match:

      - “They made the wrong choice”
      - “we executed our job to the highest standards known to the military”

      These can’t both be true.

First I have never done anything like that but I understand it.
As a medic and as a leader, our Soldiers are our family and seem like our children.
When we see them killed, wounded, and horribly disfigured on a reoccurring basis it takes a toll. To see people that you KNOW have killed GIs get loose, it is frustrating. We catch them with the weapons but can’t hold them - these are not innocent bystanders- when you patrol the same area over and over again you know. How many more lives would they have taken if we let them go? I am not saying they are right but until you hold dying brother-in arms you cannot understand why they did what they did.
